DÜRR DENTAL AG again ranked among Germany's best small and medium-sized businesses

The prestigious business magazine WirtschaftsWoche has again assessed and ranked the best German small and medium-sized companies. Innovative and profitable businesses in the metal-producing sector were examined throughout Germany. Dürr Dental AG in Bietigheim-Bissingen, near Stuttgart, has been hailed as one of the most fast growing and technologically leading companies that form the one-hundred best family enterprises in the country in 2015.

To receive this accolade again is testament to our remarkable employees, uncompromising quality, top-notch products, and unwavering commitment to research in medical technology. We will also demonstrate this in March 2015 at the biggest dental trade fair in the world, the International Dental Show in Cologne", said Martin Dürrstein, CEO of Dürr Dental AG.

In order to compare current growth rates of German SMEs, WirtschaftsWoche uses the Birch Index, an economic indicator designed by the economist David L. Birch of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston. The Birch Index multiplies a company's increase in turnover by its corresponding percentage growth. This allows the often fast growth of young companies to be put into perspective alongside the higher absolute growth of mature companies, so that the best of the bunch can be included in the ranking.

In 2013, Dürr Dental AG registered a total turnover of EUR 211 million and employed over 1,000 persons at its sites in Bietigheim-Bissingen, Kornwestheim, Gechingen, and at its subsidiaries worldwide. There is also Air Techniques, a subsidiary in Melville, New York. In 2015, the company has its own subsidiaries and representatives in 36 countries, and supplies dental products to more than 100 countries.

Dürr Dental AG has made it a core task to maintain the strengths of German SMEs in the medical engineering segment, and to further develop these technologies to the benefit of the health and healing of mankind. Dürr Dental also supports various charity and sporting projects both at home and abroad, in particular the largest privately operated hospital ship in the world, the Africa Mercy of the aid organisation Mercy Ships.

This is not only true for the permanent development of innovative, outstanding products and demand-oriented services related to modern dentistry, but also for the training of upcoming technical specialists and for providing continuing education and training to dental professionals and dentists.
