Responsibility for society
Social responsibility is a particular concern for Dürr Dental. We are actively involved in the field of health with material and financial donations. The commitment of Dürr Dental is mainly focused on Mercy Ships e.V. and the promotion and sponsoring of local sports clubs.
Social commitment
Dürr Dental supports several non-profit organisations, facilities and initiatives with donations in cash and kind as well as via orders. Our most active cooperation is with Mercy Ships:
Mercy Ships
For several years Dürr Dental has been involved with the Mercy Ships aid organisation which operates the "Africa Mercy" hospital ship in Africa. Many people in Africa have never visited a dentist – either because no dental aid exists or because the treatment is so expensive that a major part of the population cannot afford it. Mercy Ships helps the poorest of the poor with mobile dental clinics among other things.

Active in sports
As a company from the health industry, it is important to Dürr Dental to introduce people to sport. Sport promotes the development of competitive spirit, ambition and discipline as ewll as having a positive effect on health. That's why Dürr Dental supports two sport events in which people of all ages actively participate:
Bietigheim New Year's Eve run
The Bietigheimer New Year's Eve run takes place every year. The length of this fun run which was first introduced in 1981 is 11.2 kilometres. The route begins and ends under the Bietigheim railway viaduct and runs through the historic old town. The number of participants and spectators increases year by year, today the Bietigheim New Year's Eve run is one of the biggest of its type in Germany. Dürr Dental sponsors this fun run and also sends its own team to the race every year.

mz3athlon
Dürr Dental have also been supporting the mz3athlon in Steinheim/Murr since 2012; this is a triathlon with an ecological orientation. Different forms of swimming, cycling and running are the disciplines which the participants have to master. Dürr Dental sponsors the relay race.

Bietigheim-Bissingen Steelers
The Steelers are supported by Dürr Dental. The ice hockey club in Bietigheim-Bissingen was founded in 1981.

Dürr Dental promotes the sport of handball, and especially the younger generation, through the SG Bietigheim-Bissingen-Metterzimmer teams.

Dürr Dental promotes the soccer club FSV 08 Bissingen which has about 800 members in a 100 years club history.

SV Germania Bietigheim
In addition to ice hockey and handball, football is the third type of sport in which Dürr Dental is regionally involved: The SV Germania Bietigheim football club is also supported by Dürr Dental. Founded in 1909, Germania Bietigheim plays today in the Enz/Murr regional league.
