FAQ VistaSoft AID
Frequently Asked Questions
VS AID highlights areas suspected of having cavities. This helps with diagnosis and patient communication.
In all cases, the assessment and diagnostic decision rest with the treating dentist.
VS AID helps ensure that no cavities are overlooked.
VS AID aids in patient communication by highlighting areas of concern with color and outlines. This can make it easier for patients to understand the findings on X-rays, which are often difficult for them to interpret otherwise, and can accordingly help motivate them to continue treatment.
VS AID can automatically analyze all newly captured images in the background. The analysis begins immediately after the image is imported into VistaSoft and is usually complete before the patient returns to the dental chair following the X-ray
Alternatively, the analysis can also be started manually for individual images.
VS AID highlights suspicious areas with high precision. Each suggested lesion is assigned a confidence score, which is displayed when the mouse hovers over it. This score indicates the likelihood of caries at that location.
The confidence slider lets you choose whether to display more results, even those with lower confidence (default setting), or to focus the display on results with higher confidence.
VS AID is currently designed to display suspected cavities. Additional features are planned for the future, but are not yet part of the current functionality.
VS AID transmits the image data to be analyzed to the cloud in an anonymized form via an encrypted connection. The servers used for this purpose are located in Frankfurt, and the images are stored solely to ensure proper functionality.
The data is transmitted without any personal information. For technical tracking purposes, a transaction number is generated that does not allow for direct identification of an individual.
The image data is processed and stored solely for the purpose of ensuring proper functionality. It will not be used for any other purpose, such as machine learning, without express consent.
