VistaScan really is completely wireless
The cable of a sensor offers significant disadvantages in all steps of the intraoral X-ray imaging workflow, on top of which it is also susceptible to breakage. In addition, it also often gets in the way of positioning the device in the mouth of the patient and requires disinfection and proper storage after use. From a hygiene perspective, the cable is also far from ideal as it often hangs down, trailing on the floor and allowing saliva from the mouth of the patient to run along the cable. By contrast, VistaScan Image Plates are fully wireless and therefore avoid these problems.
