Industrial administrator trainee

Interview with Maria Ernst

Spotlight on industrial administrator training

What training programme are you doing at DÜRR DENTAL?
I’m training to be an industrial administrator.

Why did you decide to do an apprenticeship at DÜRR DENTAL?
As I grew up in Bietigheim, I’ve known the company for many years as part of my surroundings. Also, DÜRR DENTAL is in medical technology, which is a good industry to be in for the future.

What areas have you worked in so far, and can you give some examples of the tasks you have done here?
As I'm already in my final year of my training programme, I'm only missing one or two departments. So I’ve already got work in almost all areas.

What was the most fun moment that you experienced during your training with us?
Definitely our joint excursions. They were always great fun!

I think it's great that you spend time in so many departments. This provides you with different expertise in the various departments. You also get to know many employees in the company and learn something new every day. I also think that they are very happy to teach you and that the trainees are always welcomed.

What skills did you acquire during your training that will help you in your daily life?
I definitely became more independent and self-confident and learnt how to communicate with colleagues in a business context.

Is there a particular story about a challenge that you overcame during your training?
That would be my stay abroad for several weeks at our branch in Italy.

If you were to describe your training in emojis, which ones would you use?
😀😊🤓🎉

What's the coolest “light bulb” moment you've had during your apprenticeship?
To be honest, there were a lot of them, because you learn an incredible amount here in the various departments.

What advice would you give to others who are considering a training programme in our company?
Be open to a new chapter in your life and look forward to the things to come.

Can you share a situation where you felt like you were an important part of the team?
One situation where I felt like I was an important part of the team was when it came to the planning and organisational matters relating to youth and trainee representation.

If you could go back in time, what tip would you give yourself as a young trainee?
I would advise myself to start my training as an industrial administrator earlier, as I had already completed another training programme before that.

What would you tell future applicants?
That training as an industrial administrator at DÜRR DENTAL really is a fantastic opportunity for you, you should take the plunge, and it will open up many paths for you in the future. Eventually, you can find the department that suits you.
